Grandpa's Datsun

As a Child I visited my Grandpa

He lived outta town but not too far

And every Sunday when I were young

We talked about cars and his Datsun

One summers day he asked for Me

To help him re-spray the body

I replied I would love to Gramps

As we pushed it up onto the ramps

I suggested to fill the dents

What a good Idea with Fixi Dent?

Probably with plastic Padding

Rub it down while we're chatting

On how to put the engine back

The carburetor and pinion rack

As a Child I visited my Grandpa

He lived outta town but not too far

And every Sunday when I were young

We talked about cars and his Datsun

Oh yes and we could soup it up

With some Oxtail broth from a cup

Or maybe we could chrome the wheels

and connect the wires for tire squeals

Being curious as to what

I asked him why the exhaust was hot

He looked at Me with a frown

Its not hot now "It has cooled down"

As a Child I visited my Grandpa

He lived outta town but not too far

And every Sunday when I were young

We talked about cars and his Datsun

This Motor has not had a run

For ages now Its not been fun

So if we can get on with it

Lets work together within this pit

The car it looked a sorry state

I think it needs a new tail-gate

Grandpa started to work away

It was gonna be a very long day

Such curio's upon his shelf

Lots of tools but no elf

The only help he was gonna get

Would come from me my tears and swet

As a Child I visited my Grandpa

He lived outta town but not too far

And every Sunday when I were young

We talked about cars and his Datsun

We grafted all day into the night

And stopped as soon as we lost the light

There is always next Sunday

Looking forward so I say

Grandpa wait for I'll be back

Leave the car up on the jack

We'll take our time to customize and dream

Your Datsun into Nissan Supreme

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep I say

Get outta our road" Your in our way"

Vroom Vroom Vroom away
