Reflective Strength

Time will change everything but nothin at all

get up look in the mirror and stand tall

What do you see now? Looking back at You

Is it someone else or something black

Coming into view

You have beauty Style and grace

But you only see the pain on your face

Peers and people can be so cruel

Talking hate while adding fire to the fuel

You don't have to listen. You have a good heart

Your smile glistens so give yourself time

Tell yourself always to listen to those whom were there from the start

You can be strong You do belong

Stop believing your not enough

don't change your song and become the diamond from the rough

People whom care see the real You inside

The one you take out and then try to hide

Your heart is open and ready to love

The world is full of Jealous girls giving You a shove

Your better than them, they hurt your heart

They do not fit in and not very smart

So look in the Mirror again and see what we see

The girl looking back does not need to pretend

She is a strong Girl

Riding the wave back from the sea

So get up and look in the mirror

The face staring back is a winner

Shaken free of the Bully's

re-writing new beginnings

Your life is fuller than any would know

So shine on in the after glow.

Lonesome Dave ( Living For The Blues)

Who remembers The Man in The Long Grey Coat

A Man they called Lonesome adrift on a Boat

Who remembers his shyness, His love of The Blues

Walking everywhere in Baseball boots.

Scratching a living with Savoy Brown

Playing his heart out but feeling so down

Tours of America and Europe abound

But going nowhere as if never leaving Town.

He met the love of his life whom gave him the lift

The confidence to stretch became a gift

Touring real hard with only one thing in mind

To Share time with his new love and watch the good times unwind

He set off to the states not knowing His Fate

With His compadres they entered the gate

An opening at last with the Bearsville cast

A label that gave of everything they asked.

Foghat were live and centre stage

Came the Man they called Lonesome Dave

The new love he found would stay behind

. Back in the U,K with love so blind

Linda loved Dave and soon followed The Band

A New life in New York He took her hand

Who remembers The Man in the Long Grey Coat

The Man with the tonsils and the songs he wrote

Foghat became Fools for the city

Touring North America and raising Family

A boy and two daughters would raise there hope

Of a life with Good Music they did more than cope

Life on the Road for Dave and the Band

Became like the Song Home in My Hand

Never stopping to remember the Pub Rock days

Just Hitting The Road set in there ways.

So here's to the Boogie,  Road cases and Men

Been on The Road since God knows when

No going back working to play

Lonesome Dave remembered to this day.

Up stairs in Heaven You can still here him play

Claw Machine

In the Arcade lights flicker and glow

Winning Tickets, it’s the thrill of the show
Claw machines with prizes galore
Luck needed to find the trap door

Excitement and challenges, our hearts beating fast,
Pokémon cards and teddies, oh, let’s make this last.
Hanging onto dreams, we’re ready to try,
To grab it and win it, instead of to buy.

A chance to shine, with hope to collect,
Winning the prize, could feel so perfect,
The neon flash, tempting us with cash,
Spitting out  tickets, to add to the stash.

Counting up tickets, we laugh, let us play,
One more try and we’re done for the day.
A hundred I see on the machine over there,
Quickly put in the coins, we’re winning, I swear.

Oh no! You cry as the claw reaches down,
Drops what we thought was our treasured crown.
But oh no again, another coin in,
Almost got it but drops back once again.

A chance to shine, with hope to collect,
By winning the prize, could feel so perfect,
The neon flash, tempting us with cash,
Spitting out  tickets, to add to the stash.

Feelings we had when we first began,
Dwindled and faded, like a holiday tan.
But we won’t give up on those beautiful days,
The ones in the sunshine and in the arcade.

Chase every dream that may come our way,
Collecting memories, oh yeah fun to play

With laughter and cheer, we’ll dance through the night,
Each ticket a promise, every prize just looks right
Taking chances with hope on our side
The Arcade games we take in our stride.

So here’s to the joy and here’s to the fun,
Top prizes will never be won
Tickets, rings, and claw machines,
Candy floss and lots of sweet things

A chance to shine, with hope to collect,
By winning the prize, could feel so perfect,
The neon flash, tempting us with cash,
Spitting out  tickets, to add to the stash.

So let’s keep on playing, let’s laugh at the clown
With tickets, rings, and claw machines in seaside town
The Promenade arcade, together we’ll thrive,
With every coin push we feel so alive.

It started with a song/White Star

It started with a song, playing in my head,

Thought I’d write it down, just in case it fled,
Now the pen's in hand, but the melody’s lost,
Words dancing away, like a ghost on the frost.

Lying in my bed, while thoughts roam free,
Echoes of a tune that just won't let me be.
Like a slow flowing white cloud, drifting through the night,
Caught in a shroud, searching for that light.

Jealousy is green, and I’ve played the fool,
Wishing for tomorrow, where the skies aren’t cruel.
Tonight I'll wish upon a tiny white star,
To lighten my load, pave me a path afar.

With memories fading, like the dusk’s last glow,
I’m chasing the shadows, where my dreams don’t go.
Fame’s painted in hues of red, orange, and gold,
But the story of my life? It's never been told.

The night wraps around me, soaking deep and black,
I’m holding onto whispers, but the words fade back.

Now the silence lingers in this room of dreams,
Heartbeats echo softly, or so it seems.
The rhythm of the night whispers secrets untold,
In the silence I find, the brave and the bold.

Every word, every sigh, wrapped in twilight’s embrace,
Knowing that each moment, is a step in the race.
Tomorrow’s a canvas brushed with bright hues,
With the sun shining through, I’ll shake off the blues.

I’ll gather my thoughts and string them like pearls,
In the tapestry of life, where the heartbeat twirls.
So here's to the song that started it all,
In every rise, every stumble, I’ll stand tall.

So if you hear a whisper carried on the breeze,
Know it’s just a lost song, bringing me to my knees.
I’ll hold onto the melody, wherever it may roam,
For it started with a song, that will always lead me home.

Take a chance.

Don't get carried away but I just want to say

Something on my mind that might lead me astray
Its a million to one chance I know its true
But I might just take that bet girl "How about You"

Would You go out with me If I ask You tonight?
Would You make my Day " Make everything feel right"
Would you consider giving me a chance oh dear
Or would You turn away leaving me filled with fear

I could just politely say sorry I'm not bold
But your smiles got me weak and the way you unfold
Your Grace and charm has me needing to know
Would You come with Me to a Movie show?

Or maybe to the dance.
For a little romance?
I'm not so forward, must admit I'm shy
But if you turn me down "Girl I might just cry"

Would You go out with me If I ask You tonight?
Would You make my Day " Make everything feel right"
Would you consider giving me a chance oh dear
Or would You turn away leaving me filled with fear

A beauty like You just cannot be true
And that's why I'm taking my chance
Hoping you say I do

So will you stroll with me under the pale Moonlight
To the Movie or the Town Hall Dance tonight

I know I'm being forward " Its hard I confess"
But would you consider a date I must express
Take your time I'm prepared to wait
Hope I aint out of order putting you on a plate

Would You go out with me If I ask You tonight?
Would You make my Day " Make everything feel right"
Would you consider giving me a chance oh dear
Or would You turn away leaving me filled with fear

So was that a Yes? or let me just guess
I'm a little nervous I must confess
But I'm hoping for a chance Just a little romance
So what do you say? Lets give in and Dance

Vampires Dont Do Mornings

Woke up this morning and I drew back the curtains wide

Sunshine spilling in like a wild reckless ride

Didn't heed the warnings guess I couldn't resist

Feeling young and daring, living life with a twist

The Night has a promise of adventure and more

A stranger stood waiting " I was ready to explore"

Caught in his gaze Oh the magic I found

All I wished for was fun left me swirling around

Oh Oh I left my home something I should never have done

Chasing shadows in the moonlight thinking we were young

Making plans on a whim, took a chance with him

Thought I were flying high but now it feels like sin

In a chapel so grand I was lost in a haze

Saying vows and losing my heart in a daze

Deep down inside there's a hammering pain

Regrets wrap around me like a cold heavy chain

No use in missing the things that I'll forget

Giving up on my sweet silhouette" What a threat"

Its hard to remember I was once so wise

Saw magic in the strangers eyes " What a surprise"

But caution flew away blown by the nights breeze

When the stranger took me as his bride with such ease

Oh Oh I left my home something I should never have done

Chasing shadows in the moonlight thinking we were young

Making plans on a whim, took a chance with him

Thought I were flying high but now it feels like sin

In a chapel so grand I was lost in a haze

Saying vows and losing my heart in a daze

Vampires don't do mornings they only crave the night

Life feels like a game when your dancing in the light

Remember to heed the warnings and stay within the glow

Because Magic can be fleeting when you don't even know

Now I'm wishing for wisdom longing to break free

From the chains of a memory so bittersweet to see

I found my way back to a day that I knew

When magic wasn't tangled in a strangers debut

So I draw back the curtains and let the sun shine

Tomorrows a new day I'll reclaim what's mine

So here's to the morning embracing the light

I'll hold onto my wisdom and never lose sight

Though magic may flicker and fade into the sky

I'll keep the lessons learned and wisdom that lies

In the dawn of a new day I'll rise I'll be brave

No more chasing shadows just the dreams that I saved

Deep down inside I have pain and regret

No use in missing the things Ill forget giving up on my sweet silhouette

Its hard to remember that I was once wise

And saw magic in the strangers eyes

Caution should have been taken when  the Stranger took Me as His Prize

Vampires Dont do Mornings

They only crave the Night

Just rember to Heed The warnings and stay within the light.
