Duvet Day

The sun is shining through the pouring rain

Another day turning out the same
I make a coffee and go back to bed
And have myself a duvet day instead
Everyone has secrets, some of fun,
some deep regrets some are not so easy to forget.

As I Lay in my bed, thoughts running through my head,
Days of a youth , living in a crazy truth,
Never hearing a self assured word.
Life was so absurd from the ones who should care
Just torment and hard judged stares.

As I grew older glad my youth won’t come back
The remembrance is sad
But I’m on the right track
I don’t want to go back
Just go straight ahead and cherish thee moments
Laying in my bed.

Actual Song Version

The sun is shining through the pouring rain,
Another day unfolds, nothing feels quite the same.
I make a coffee, warm cup in my hand,
Then I curl under blankets, it's my own wonderland.
Duvet day, let's let the world fade away,
Where I surrender to dreams and just drift and sway.

[Chorus]
Everyone has secrets, some are light, some are dark,
Carved in the shadows, they leave their mark.
A little fun, deep regrets we can’t shake,
Some memories linger, others we break.

[Verse 2]
As I lay in my bed, thoughts run wild in my mind,
Days of youth flashing back, the truth unkind.
Living on the edge, chasing a reckless thrill,
Forgotten promises echo, yet I feel them still.
Never hearing a self-assured word,
Just the weight of judgment from those who’d been heard.
Closed off and confused, the world seemed so absurd,
Yearning for a change, but life's lesson deterred.

[Chorus]
Everyone has secrets, some are light, some are dark,
Carved in the shadows, they leave their mark.
A little fun, deep regrets we can't shake,
Some memories linger, others we break.

[Bridge]
As I grew older, I welcomed the change,
Past feels like a ghost, sometimes oddly strange.
Glad my youth won’t return, it's a gift to accept,
The laughter and tears were moments inept.
But I’m on the right track, feeling good where I roam,
Not looking behind, I’ve learned to call this home.

[Verse 3]
So let the rain pour, let the sun always shine,
I’m cherishing this duvet, these moments are mine.
Playing soft music, it dances in the air,
Wrapped in my thoughts, the world’s gentle care.
I’ll stay in bed, where my dreams turn to gold,
Sipping on coffee, embracing the old.

[Chorus]
Everyone has secrets, some are light, some are dark,
Carved in the shadows, they leave their mark.
A little fun, deep regrets we can't shake,
Some memories linger, others we break.

[Outro]
I don’t want to go back, just go straight ahead,
Holding onto the moments, laying in my bed.
Where the sun meets the rain, in this peaceful ballet,
I find solace and hope on this duvet day.
