The Promise

 You thought you could be great at hiding the truth

But you tied my soul and stole all my youth

You covered your tracks, while the evidence stacked

You altered the facts ,watch me bleed through the cracks

Darkness has taken my good life to the grave

You buried the truth wanting me to behave

You were only postponing ,what you secretly kept

What you did in the dark now I won't let you sleep

I am the dirt on your hands, I am the shadow you cast

you can bury the bones but you can’t bury the past

Go on and lock all the doors, try to rinse away the stain

But the ground’s gonna open up and spit back my name

Remember your secret each time that you leave

Every lie that you told or asked others to believe

There maybe someone who’ll put a knife in your back

It maybe me coming back , preparing you to crack

From deep in my grave I remember it well

You traded my love and trust, "no one could tell"

I’ll always know what you did, you can’t undo what’s done

Yet you convince yourself and others I was the guilty one.
